Blurwise in five languages, and one project for a whole job

Languages

  • Blurwise now speaks English, Italian, German, French and Spanish. Pick the language from the globe button at the bottom of the window; "Automatic" follows the language of Windows.
  • The installer is in the same five languages, and messages about your licence now arrive in your language too.

Review

  • "Join…" and "Separate" buttons on the Faces tab: select several rows and join them into one face in one go.
  • The face you pick stays highlighted, both in the list and on the video.
  • Del removes the boxes you drew, Ctrl+Z puts them back. They can also be removed with a right-click.
  • The eye strip now stays on a face even in the moments the face isn’t found automatically.

Track

  • Draw the box, adjust it, then press Start: nothing is followed until you are happy with it. Pause to correct the box and carry on from there.
  • The box grows and shrinks with the object, so something coming towards the camera stays covered.
  • A 2x button makes the tracking pass up to twice as fast.

Projects

  • All the files of a review are saved in one project, and reopen together.
  • Opening a project takes a moment instead of up to a minute, and "Find faces" no longer searches again files you already reviewed.
  • If a video has moved, Blurwise asks where it is once and remembers. If it is gone, you can leave it out and keep working on the others: it stays in the list marked as not found.
  • Faces marked "Check" are still marked when you reopen a project.

Fixes

  • Exporting or saving into a synced folder (OneDrive, Dropbox, Synology…) waits for the sync to let go of the file. If the sound still can’t be added, Blurwise tells you instead of leaving you a silent video to discover later.
  • Stop now works straight away while a long video is being measured, and the page says that is what it is doing.
  • The detection presets reset the advanced settings too, so a choice made in an earlier session doesn’t linger underneath.
  • Temporary files are deleted when you close Blurwise, instead of piling up hundreds of MB, and a downloaded update is removed once installed.
  • "Restart now" works in the installed app.

A much faster review, and nothing lost when you close

Review

  • Moving through a video is now near-instant: clicking a face, jumping on the timeline and stepping backwards no longer make you wait, even on long or high-resolution videos.
  • A face lost for a moment and found again as a new row can be joined back into one face — right-click its row and choose "Join with…". The gap between the two is covered too, and "Separate" undoes it.
  • Change several faces at once: Ctrl+click or Shift+click rows, then switch blur on or off, or pick a cover, for all of them together.
  • A "Show" filter above the list: all faces, the ones worth a second look, the blurred ones or the ones left visible.
  • Faces that deserve a second look are marked "Check", and the list now follows the order faces appear in the video.
  • Play at 4x to cover long footage quickly.
  • Boxes you add yourself glide smoothly between the points where you place them, and start as rectangles so nothing you marked is left uncovered at the corners.

Finding faces

  • Steadier tracking: fewer duplicate boxes, a face is no longer split into many rows when it turns or moves, and boxes stay on faces as they enter the shot.
  • Choose how thorough detection should be — Thorough, Balanced or Precise — with a line explaining what each means for your video.

Projects

  • Save every file in the review in one go, next to each video or all in one folder.
  • Save projects from the first page too, for example after an export — and Ctrl+S saves from anywhere.
  • Blurwise now asks before closing if your work hasn’t been saved, so the faces it found are never lost by accident.

Updates

  • "Check for updates" in About and Manage license tells you when a new version is out and installs it for you — only when you ask, and without sending anything about you or your files. If your licence doesn’t include a new version, it tells you so instead of installing it.

Fixes

  • Fixed very slow seeking in some interlaced camcorder videos.
  • No more small picture glitches after jumping through some camcorder videos.
  • Listen and the sound while playing work again in the installed app.

True colours, better quality and a second look at any export

Export

  • HDR videos keep their colours: no more washed-out or shifted tones in the review or in the exported file.
  • Choose the video quality of your exports: Standard or High.
  • Interlaced camcorder footage comes out clean, without the combing lines on moving edges.
  • "Review again" puts a file you already exported back into the review, to change a decision without starting over.

Covering faces

  • A separate box margin for each cover type, set with sliders.

Audio (Studio)

  • Disguise only the stretches that need it, with four tones so several speakers stay distinguishable.
  • A cleaner-sounding voice disguise, still irreversible.
  • Hear the video while it plays in the review, if you want to.

Free version

  • Photos without limits again: any number, any size.

Review

  • Hold the step buttons to move frame by frame, a faster 2x, and stepping backwards that keeps up.
  • "Restore default settings" brings back the original settings in one click.

Your licence includes every release up to the date shown in the app, under Manage license. A release dated after it runs as the free version, and the one you already have keeps working either way. Every installer is in the version archive.
